Key Information
This course is a combination of theory and practical-based learning, designed to give students a thorough understanding of how the theory components apply to real-life situations.There is also work placement component to be completed in students’ own time approximately 20 hours. Class sizes are kept small, to ensure all students receive individual attention. After completing this course, graduates will be qualified fitness instructors, and can go on to work in a variety of gyms, health & fitness centres and more.
Learning Options
Face to Face
These courses run over 10 full days over 10 weeks by expert presenters covering both theory and practical components required to become a leading fitness/exercise instructor. Students are required to complete some course requirements at home and/or in their workplace. Students wishing to complete this course as soon as possible, can complete the out-of-class work requirements throughout the 10 weeks of the course delivery (treating it like a full-time course) and therefore becoming job ready as a fitness instructor earlier. However, all students are given six months after the final class to complete the work requirements.Part-time
This course is run over approximately 120 contact hours, with 10 full days of classes. Again, students have six months after the final lecture date to complete all assessments.Grading
To gain this qualification, students must successfully complete the following:- Various theoretical, practical and verbal assessments completed throughout the course
- Work placement at a health club, gym or fitness facility of your choice is encouraged, in your own time. This also includes associated workbook material
- Completion of portfolio questions
- Level 2 First Aid qualification (eqivalent to HLTFA301B)
